Business Experience

  • Founded KIMDON Financial, an equipment leasing and finance consulting firm that focuses on developing and teaching the fundamentals of equipment finance and equipment leasing. The basis of knowledge and substance for consulting comes from, over 30 years of equipment leasing experience, coupled with an educational background and being a Certified Lease and Finance Professional, CLFP.
  • Founded First South Leasing LLC, a subsidiary of First South Bank in 2001. As of June 2018, the company had originated over $100 million in equipment leases with excellent profit and collection history. Served as its President and CEO. Responsible for 100% of all operational functions. Company began as a new entity.
  • Co-founded Network Finance as a single purpose equipment leasing company to provide technology-based equipment leasing for a single provider to deliver its service globally in the telecommunication industry.
  • Served as a Senior Vice President of Centura Bank Leasing December 1999 to April 2001. Company merged with Royal Bank of Canada. Merged Leasing portfolio with Triangle Bank/Coastal Leasing. Managed and trained sales force.
  • Served as Executive President of Triangle Bank/Coastal Leasing. In charge of the sales force of the leasing company and trained commercial and retail bank employees in the fundamentals of equipment leasing to leverage the bank to increase the volume of the lease portfolio. Assisted in the merging of Coastal Leasing Corporation. October 1997 -December 1999. Merged with Centura Bank.
  • Served as Senior Vice President of Coastal Leasing Corporation January 1987- December 1999. Began leasing career as a sales representative. Developed leases through equipment vendor sales. Progressed to working with Commercial Bank Clients in developing their backroom operations and training their sales force to build each banks’ leasing portfolio. Coastal was a private owned leasing company and was merged with Triangle Bank of Raleigh NC. Assisted with the merger and acquisition.
  • Serve as Trustee, Executive Manager, and advisor to Family holdings consisting of Five trusts, one commercial real estate company and several personal real estate holdings. (presently serving.)

Education

  • Earned Bachelor of Science in History and minor in Political Science from East Carolina University, 1977.
    30 semester hours of graduate courses in economic education, public administration and secondary education. (1983-1985 at East Carolina University.)
  • Various continued education credits through the Equipment Lease and Finance Association.
  • Earned the designation of Certified Lease & Finance Professional for demonstrating a High Level of competence in the field of Equipment Finance.
  • Achieved by passing a comprehensive examination and fulfilling prescribed standards of professional conduct in accordance with the CLFP Foundation requirements. September 2016.
  • Annual re-certification is required and am currently certified.

Community & Civics

  • Saint James United Methodist Church – Multiple service positions spanning over the past 30 years.
    • Currently serving as Lay Leader of the church with advisory and listening responsibilities on various committees including the trustees, finance, administrative, pastor Parrish relationship committee.
    • Three-year term as assistant to head of stewardship committee and a three-year term as head of stewardship committee.
    • Two-year head of family ministries. Multiple terms on finance.
    • Adult class teacher and former volunteer for the youth program.
  • 4+ years as Scout Master for Troop 340 Boy Scouts of America.
  • 16 years as little league coach with the Greenville Little League.
  • 5+ years served on Greenville Little League Board.
  • 3+ years served on the East Carolina Educational Foundation
